Hello, my name is Jennifer..... three years ago I became ill, no one listened to me, this bacame worse and I argued with my boss. He sacked me, great job too, my husband furious left me for being so damned assertive.. Huh! two days later I collapsed at his feet after breakfast, he rushed me to hospital..... suffice to say I had three kidney operations in the space of five months....

 I worked again part time, but this had to end, I found myself in hospital again with kidney problems and asked the doctor in charge to check the lump in my throat,,,, he refused, two months, four months, twelve months went by and finally someone listened to me... I had a lump the size of an egg in the side of my neck.... You see, I was visiting the doctor with my young daughter who, whilst I had one of my visitis in hosp... was diagnosed with Lupus SLE... great, I too have this, and know all about it. hence the kidney ops..

Anyway I had a small job now selling raffle tickets for the disabled, doing well too.. I went into hosp. I knew something was a miss, the doc. said you will be out of hosp, in the day... well guess what, four days later he came to my bedside... my husband returned back home... my older daughter phoned him... the pathology result... cancer..... well, my body froze, I can still feel as I felt then when the doctor spoke those words.... I had half my thyroid removed and then had to have further immediate surgery to remove the other half.... six months later, I was not at work, my husband furious,he received knews his dad had cancer.. and my husband was himself in remission from non hodgkins lymphoma.... healthy lot aren't we? don't answer that.....

I went for treatment, oh it is a holiday they said, you go into a room and watch telly all day.... yeah right, after swallowing radio active capsule and being so ill for weeks, bleeding gums, vomiting blood, etc, you get the picture, I was not allowed to see anyone for four weeks, too radio active, oh the geigher counter man came by... but cups of tea were left outside the room as all meals, the room was bullet proof though, fully lead lined.. that was comforting I can tell you..... any way, that treatment I had to have again, just fifteen months ago.... and now two weeks back  

I was informed that the blood shows active tissue, not what I wanted to hear, and so the doctor suggests more radio active treatment..... I do not think so... over that two year period I could not butter bread, brush my daughters hair or anything that needed me to use my strength, you see without my thyroid I had none...  
I bought a car three months before this illness started, a new  car, my old bomb of twenty years gave up the ghost......

MY husband and I united, to move, only this year for him to have a serious truck accident and become ever more frustrated and as soon as he could stand on his two feet he left...... some men aye!

Today, I find myself simply shaking my head saying what do I do.. I owe so much money.... I used credit cards to survive all of this, to pay bills and medical expenses not to lavishly spend on clothes makeup etc.... and I cannot sell my car, owe too much on it....... all up I personally owe $78,000.00 dollars.... that is a hell of a lot of burden knowing I cannot pay it.. I try, on my little pension but it is not enough, constantly I speak with my creditors, constantly 

I avert my car from being re-possessed.... and constantly I tell my young daughter, sorry honey when we have money we can go horse riding......I tired to consolidate my loans but I own no property, never have and to top things off the house I rent was sold two months ago and we have to move, you know I do not even have the money to move back home to where my big kids and Mum are.......

My story is genuine..... my story is real, and a friend suggested I do this.... never in a million years would I have dreamed of doing this, but here I am........ I do not want much, just a small something from those who can give it freely, I do not work these days, but I do help at the hospital and that is good, I have a great family, four beautiful children and they have all helped but now I find myself mentally going under and this is not who I am..... I can not give anyone anything in return but thankyou if you should send money to help me out of this huge, illness accredited debt that I find myself in.......

Just recently, april in fact my eldest daughter was married, she lives eight hours away from me.... and you know, she and her hubby to be had to put money into my account so I could drive the distance, there are no planes here... and I felt, feel so guilty, she, they paid for their own wedding and I could not even buy them a wedding gift..... there is a lot of stuff like that in my life, where I feel guilty, my children say, "Mum it is okay, don't ever feel guilty," but in my heart I feel I have let them all down.....
