Hello out there, my name is Wendy.  My husband was at work, in the middle of a conversation with a friend & then he was gone.  Only in his 40's, we were shocked & not prepared for our loss.  I'm in an area where the economy was hit hard & fast, (the slowest to recover).  I was laid off 3 months after 911.  He took 2 big pay cuts just to keep his job & benefits.  Probate laws are INSENCITIVE & EXPENSIVE.  

It's taken away my control of our lives & HUGE amounts of money that should be going to us right now.  Everything happened so fast, I didn't have time, energy, or money to get myself or our 2 daughters insurance.  Just a couple of days after we were uninsured our youngest (5yrs old) was in the hospital & before she could recover she ended up right back in & sick again.  Her sister (10yrs old) has had a pretty rough time of it too. 

 Even though we have state medical cards now, I'm afraid she could get turned down at the door because of the other bills, if she were to get sick again.(about $11,000.00) Social Security death befefits come in once a month & it's gone so quick, I just can't make it last until the next one gets here.  Bills are stacking up, I have borrowed all I can borrow from friends or family. I owe probably another $4-$5,000.00 there. 

They don't ask for it back because they know I don't have it. I owe another $3-4,000.00 in legal fees. I've been everywhere & they say Social Security is too high of an income, so I don't even qualify for help with the utilities. I can't let the electricity or heat get shut off because of my youngest has breathing equipement in the house.  It's the only other way they come in & pay for it.  I can't save any money, which makes it impossible to look for a cheaper place to live.  So I'm asking for help from anyone out there who would like to help me & my two daughters get on our feet again. 

 The worry & the stress makes it hard to convince the girls that we're okay.  I don't give up easy and have sold everything that we can do without.  Some days are very hard & I'm tired of telling the girls we're gonna be fine when it's hard to convince myself.  They know I'm not telling the truth, which just scares them more.  They are having trouble in school (1st & 5th grades) because they just don't concentrate very well.

I know that they just pick up on my stress.  I LOVE THEM SO MUCH & I KNOW HOW MUCH THEY MISS THEIR DAD. So if there is anyone out there that would like to help us get on our feet again, I sure would appreciate it.  If you do decide to help us.  I'll take this time now to say THANK YOU & GOD BLESS.
